You need their medication list, snacks that they might eat (after doctor approval), snacks for yourself, cell phone charger, and a book to read! I always take a jacket too. If it's a long stay, I'm fortunate that our hospital and rehab place are not too far, so if needed I can make trips. When Mom was in rehab, I took seasonal decorations for her windowsill or shelf, and fresh flowers.
