this is a situation that we dread the most about our parents. in fact, when I first moved to my current city to be closer to mom, I was in pure denial about her becoming older. "everything will be okay, mom will be just fine and back to her old self soon" I would constantly think. Be prepared and ask the doctor questions of how to make adjustments for the better for the parent (physical and mental health), and especially yourself. see your own doctor regularly and fit in a healthy diet and exercise regimen into your schedule
